What is life coaching?
Coaching is a distinct, supportive relationship that helps clients define and achieve their goals. Coaches keep their clients accountable as they navigate implementing positive change into their every day life.
How is coaching different than counseling?
Coaching focuses on the clients present to help define and achieve their goals. Coaching operates under a support model and clients do not receive a medical diagnosis. Counseling operates under a medical model and focuses on clients pasts to address mental health issues.
Counseling and Coaching can be utilized at the same time.
While your coach cannot be your counselor, clients may find it helpful to utilize a coach and a counselor co-currently. If your coach identifies deeper mental health concerns, you will be referred out to a counselor.
