MIchael ScaramellA
Licensed associate counselor
Michael received his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University and his Bachelors in Theology from Benedictine University in Mesa.
Michaels calling to become a therapist began while working in charitable organizations such as E3 Africa where he managed operations for an orphanage and school in Moyo, Uganda. There he found a great need for mental health services for the children there that often witnessed and experienced violence, trauma, starvation, and war firsthand.
Michael is EMDR trained and draws upon a diverse range of counseling therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, DBT, and Gottman’s method for couples.
Michael specializes in helping teenagers and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and addictions. He also wishes to support others grappling with grief, loss, or turmoil within family relationships. Michael firmly believes that within everyone lies the potential for healing and flourishing, provided they summon the courage to take that crucial initial stride.
When Michael is not working, he enjoys playing video games, hiking, and binge-watching a good crime or drama Netflix show or YouTube video with his fiancée.
